1. Pretend that you are talking to a blind man and have to describe for him what "red" is. You should use narrative and descriptive writing techniques, and try to appeal to his other senses!

:)

2. How does competition function in our society? To what extent is it healthy/unhealthy? Offer some real world examples taken from your life, community, culture, state, nation, or world.

3. How have you taken something that you have learned in the classroom and integrated it into your nonacademic life?

4. If you could go back in time and be someone in history, who would you choose to be? Why?

5. If you had the responsibility to decide where $1 million should be spent to improve conditions somewhere in the world, what project(s) would you choose? Why?

If I had the responsibility to spend 1 million dollars to improve the conditions of a location I would chose Tijuana. I am not just talking about improving the houses and the streets but also the economy and the crime rates. I would like to help decrease the crime rates and make Tijuana a better place. I also want to improve the economy because today a dollar has the same value as 13 pesos. If can spend 1 million dollars to help make Tijuana a better place I would. With that money I can also help end the drug wars and make Tijuana better entirely starting from the inside and finishing on the outside.

6. How have you tried to effect change in relation to an issue of personal, local, or national significance?

I have tried to effect change in my personal issue of grades by trying to do my work. I still have problems but I think I am beginning to get it. I sometimes get lazy and do not do my homework but I will start doing it because I know it is important to do better on my tests. I am trying to effect a change because I know I need to get good grades to go to a good university and succeed in a career. If I do not get god grades then the universities would reject my application and I would not be able to study a career or at least it will impede me from finishing as fast as I was hoping. However if I manage to get good grades and pass my IB tests, then I will be able to begin my university course as a sophomore which means that I will also be able to graduate I year earlier than what it is normally required which means that I graduate in about 3 years instead of 4. These are the reasons why I have decide to begin studying and to improve my grades in order to change my opportunities of getting into a good college.

7. If you could introduce one new idea or material thing to a primitive culture, what would it be?

If I could introduce a new idea to a primitive culture I would introduce the idea of anti-technology. Even though many people think technology is advancement I think technology is a regression. Since every time we are getting closer to technology, then we are getting away from all the other ways of living. Right now if technology happens to disappear we would end up as primitive as the culture mentioned before. Technology, which has been claimed to help us, will eventually end up hurting us more than anyone thinks. We are too dependent on technology, which is why it is important to show the primitive culture that technology is bad. Technology has taken away most of our skills and has replaced many of humans because technology makes a better work in terms of perfection. The primitive culture has the right to know that technology is dangerous and that they have to be careful in the future not to become dependent on technology.
